Pretty Women

A story of three sisters set in the 17th century Kazakh steppe. The eldest, Aisulu, falls in love with the wandering poet Musa but feels duty-bound to marry another man. Aisulu's younger sisters, Tomiris and Zere, seem to always find themselves at the center of trouble, adding to Aisulu’s burdens. Tomiris, the middle sister, is a tomboy whose passion is the dangerous game of kokpar: played on horseback it is presumed to be a man’s prerogative. Meanwhile, Zere, the younger sister, in spite family’s objections marries charming Zhanghir, who’s intentions, as the older sisters suspect, are not as pure as it seems. Determined to protect their younger sister, Aisulu and Tamiris set off to uncover the truth.
